We use Google Sign-In (Google Identity Services) to authenticate users. When you sign in with your Google account, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google. Your email is used for authentication, payment processing, and — if you opt in — daily prediction emails. We do not receive or store your Google password. Your email is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
To process payments for our prediction passes, we utilize Stripe, a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor. When you purchase a Day Pass ($2.99 CAD) or 30-Day Pass ($9.99 CAD), Stripe collects and processes your payment information on our behalf. The 30-Day Pass is a one-time, non-recurring charge that expires after 30 days — there is no automatic renewal. We store your email address as a Stripe Customer to manage your purchases, but we do not directly collect or store credit card numbers, CVVs, or other sensitive payment details. We recommend reviewing Stripe’s privacy policy to understand how they handle and protect your payment data.
When purchasing a 30-Day Pass, you may opt in to receive daily O/U prediction emails for every NHL game day. These emails are sent from wphockeypredictor@gmail.com via Gmail SMTP. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email. Your email opt-in preference is stored as metadata on your Stripe checkout session.

Daily prediction results are stored in Google Cloud Storage for the picks archive feature. This data contains only game predictions (team names, expected goals, O/U calls) — no user personal information is stored in the archive. Your session data is stored in encrypted, signed Flask cookies on your browser.
We use signed session cookies to maintain your login state and track your prediction usage for the current day. These cookies are essential for the functioning of our service and contain your email address, session date, and payment status. Session cookies are encrypted and cannot be tampered with. They are set to HTTP-only and Secure flags to protect against unauthorized access.
